your gonna have your work cut out for you since a its a mid size with no v8 option till they did a 5.3 h3. splicing the ls1 engine and tranny harrness will take some time not saying it cant be done just research it before jumping in with both feet cause it will prolly be down awhile as for the tranny i would just throw in a 4l60e alot easier to swap than a m6

i did the same thing years ago in my green 95 f150 swapped out the 300-6cyl. for a 5.0 harenss was the hardest thing in the swap

You can get a colorado with a 5.3 now.......
It's called noise pollution. Most people would rather hear a continuous loop of a cat struggling with a hairball than listen to your faggity fart pipe.

Your whole driveline will be useless for anything your wanting to do. LS1 engine complete, wiring harness,PCM,ls1 cooling system,4L60E transmission, driveshaft, rearend and of course bigger tires along with a better suspension setup to even think about getting on the gas.

Overall trade it in on a LS1 car such as a Formula,Trans Am or Camaro. That will be a whole lot easier to do and less hassel, just ask some of the truck guys what all they have to go through to make it work and most of them do not have to do over half the stuff you will need to do,alot of money and time and in the end it's still "fast for a truck".

im not too worried about bein really fast cause i cant afford it, i jus want to mainly be able to say ive got a truck that can run a lil bit. im not really worried bout bein able to hang with people on the track or streets but this baby motor is killin me. i mean a damn 4 cylinder honda accord can damn near beat me lol its sad.

yeah i talk to broz all the time but his shit aint got a motor or tranny in it ha. but yeah i dont need anything too beefy but im jus tired of the superslow ha. i think i might try and look into the new 5.3 colorados like kyle was sayin and i might buy and older 5.3 and have me a lil personal learnin project with it since i dont know anything bout workin on them. but idk yet, which is the main reason i posted this in the first place lol.
